Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, which began on 24 February 2022, has seen millions of people (mainly mothers and children) flee to neighbouring countries such as Poland and Romania. Against this backdrop, our assistance targets refugees who have fled to the Republic of Moldova. Although it is said to be the poorest country in Europe, it hosts 400,000 refugees. The population of Moldova is 2.67 million, so in terms of Japan's population, we are taking in a whopping 15 million refugees. We will now describe the trajectory of this assistance.
