そして、こんなElenaの感想が。。
正直なところ、日本大使(のスピーチ)が最も素晴らしい方でした。

This is just to share with you a nice experience, related to an important event yesterday, where I offered the interpretation services - the official launching of the campaign "Set Free. Untold stories of sexual violence".

It consisted of official speeches of top Moldovan authorities, UNDP, OSCE, UNFPA + speeches of several important ambassadors of UK, USA, Sweden and JAPAN! Then a flashmob followed, directed against domestic and sexual violence. The whole idea was to raise awareness on the victims and survivors of sexual violence, mainly women and girls, and especially refugees, which are especially vulnerable to sexual assaults, exploitation, rapes, etc and to mobilize the state authorities, civil society, communities, police, doctors, service providers to support the survivors of such nightmare with more compassion, understanding and empathy.

I need to confess that the Ambassador of Japan was the greatest one. He spoke in a very compelling and convincing manner, bringing personal examples and also the experience of his wife (in the past midwife who came across many cases of rapes and sexual violence), he mentioned the intention of your national Parliament to amend the criminal code to punish tougher the non-consensual intercourse, to provide education for men and boys in schools to let them understand the sufferings of women/girls who became victims of such situations, to eliminate the stigma and shame from those victims.... I really admired him!

After the event, His Excellence told me a lot of compliments about my interpretation skills, I was very pleased to talk to him. I also mentioned my huge respect for Japan and Japanese people and their generosity, I have mentioned the generosity and kindness of Koichi san and my appreciation for everything your country is doing to help both Moldovans and refugees.
